‘Love Is Blind’ Star Taylor Rue Reveals the Moment She Knew Her Relationship With JP Pierce Was Over (Exclusive)
'There was no fix,' the 'Love Is Blind' Season 5 star exclusively tells The Messenger
Love Is Blind's Taylor Rue and JP Pierce may have just headed out on their honeymoon, but they're certainly no longer in the honeymoon phase. In the newest batch of Love Is Blind Season 5 episodes — which dropped today on Netflix — the engaged couple took to Mexico to celebrate their love, alongside fellow fiancés Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Milton Johnson, plus Izzy Zapata and Stacy Snyder.
But the fairytale didn't last long, as tensions soon flared over Pierce's quiet nature and Rue wearing makeup during their reveal (something Pierce called "fake"). Ultimately, Rue gave her ring back to Pierce, and the two left Mexico separately.
But now, the teacher is revealing exactly when she knew that the relationship wouldn't work out — and no, it wasn't when her firefighter fiancé said she had a "caked-up face." (Untrue, by the way!)
"It was probably day two or three in Mexico," she exclusively told The Messenger earlier this month. "We had multiple conversations, and nothing was happening. There was no fix, so that was frustrating for me. My heart was telling me to leave, my head was telling me to stay."
Rue explained that she was going "back and forth" on the decision throughout her honeymoon. Ultimately, though, she decided to walk away because she believed the two deserved to live without doubts.
"I had one foot out the door," she added. "I was like, 'This is not fair to him. It's not fair to me.' I want to do marriage one time, and I want to do it right. So that's when I decided it was time for me to go."
