Lizzo Reveals She’s Working on Music and Her ‘Trust Issues With the World’
'They are deep now, deeper than they've ever been,' Lizzo shared in a public update
Pop star Lizzo returned to Instagram after a two-week hiatus with promo for her brand Yitty as well as an update.
"Hi," she began her Thursday post. "I'm working.. on music, myself, relationships with people and food, my anxiety, my body, my business, and my trust issues with the world.. but they are deep now, deeper than they've ever been. Xoxo."
The accompanying selfie shows the Grammy Award winner with her hair down in a white bath robe with a grey tub behind her.
Earlier this summer, three of Lizzo's former employees filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and discrimination. She has since denied "generally and specifically each and every allegation contained," citing that the former backup dancers who filed the suit are "opportunists" looking for "a quick payday."
Lizzo first broke her silence on Instagram in August following the initial allegations.
"These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing," she shared in a statement. "My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized."
"Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to be addressed," Lizzo continued. "These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional."

"As an artist I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans," she added. "With passion comes hard work and high standards. Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it's never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren't valued as an important part of the team."
Lizzo concluded, "I'm hurt but I will not let the good work I've done in the world be overshadowed by this. I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support to lift me up during this difficult time."
In October, the singer's legal team filed a motion to dismiss the suit in a Los Angeles court.
