Lisa Marie Presley Memoir Release Date Announced 1 Year After Death
Random House announced plans to collaborate with Presley's daughter Riley Keough for the memoir, set to be released Oct. 15
Lisa Marie Presley's posthumous memoir will be published this fall more than a year after her January 2023 death.
On Thursday, publisher Random House announced its plans to collaborate with Presley's daughter Riley Keough for the memoir set to be released Oct. 15.
"This raw, riveting, one-of-a-kind memoir will lift the veil on one of America’s most storied families, sharing intimate memories of Lisa Marie’s remarkable, tumultuous life while offering a poignant exploration of the bonds between a mother and daughter," Random House said in a statement obtained by the Hollywood Reporter.
"Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis’ daughter," Keough said in a statement to the outlet. "I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one. I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did."
Keough will also narrate an audiobook edition, which will be released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio.
Lisa Marie, the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, died on Jan. 12, 2023, from a cardiac arrest stemming from a small bowel obstruction. She was 54.
While celebrating Austin Butler's Golden Globes win for his titular role in Elvis, Priscilla said her daughter voiced that she was experiencing some pain.

"We had just gotten there, you go down all these stairs," Priscilla said. "I tripped a little bit because I had these high heels on, and she started laughing so hard. I started laughing. We hadn't even had a drink yet. She goes, 'Oh my God, Mom, you can't even have a drink.' It was fun, a fun memory. Then we sat down and ordered drinks, and she says, 'Mom, my stomach hurts really bad.' We immediately got up and left."
A couple days later, Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital and ultimately pronounced dead.
