Lil Wayne Is Set to Perform at the MTV VMAs for the First Time in 10 Years
Anitta, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini and TOMORROW X TOGETHER will also perform at 2023 MTV VMAs on Sept. 12
Please welcome to the stage, Lil Wayne.
On Thursday, MTV announced that the rapper will be performing at the 2023 Video Music Awards — marking the Grammy Award-winning artist's first performance at the awards show in over 10 years.
The 14-time nominee — who will once again compete in the Best Hip-Hop category — will perform his new single, "Kat Food," live for the very first time.
Anitta, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini and TOMORROW X TOGETHER are also joining the ever-growing roster of global superstars slated to perform on Sept. 12.
Anitta, who made history with her first VMAs win as the only Brazilian to ever take home an MTV Moon Person last year, sets her return to the storied MTV stage where she will bring Brazilian Funk to the masses performing a medley of hits from her latest release, Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story.
Doja Cat, who hosted the show in 2021, is up for five awards this year, including Best Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. She last won in 2022 for Best Choreography.
Ballerini is slated for her VMAs debut performance off the expanded version of her critically acclaimed EP, Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good). The artist's first-time appearance on the MTV stage comes on the same day as her 30th birthday.
