Hip-hop star Lil Nas X teased a new song and a new era. The "Industry Baby" singer, who is has mastered the act of turning heads, announced on Nov. 29 that his next musical foray will be into the Christian music genre.

In the video posted to social media, Lil Nas X donned a long black wig, a denim skirt, and a t-shirt that reads, "IF GOD DOESN'T EXIST THEN WHO'S LAUGHING AT US." He lipsyncs to his new track which features the lyrics, "Father stretch my hands/the lonely road seems to last the longest/help me with my plans/everything seems to go to nowhere."

"y'all mind if I enter my Christian era?" he captioned the video.

As the mixed reactions trickled in, the 24-year-old then decided to clear up a misconception: "making christian music does not mean i can’t suck d(---) no more. the two are not mutually exclusive. i am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons."
