Leah Remini Says It’s ‘Never Too Late to Start Again’ After Finishing Second Year at NYU

"Always the proudest," longtime friend Michelle Visage wrote to celebrate the 'King of Queens' actress' accomplishment

Leah Remini is proving it's never too late to go after one's dreams.

"Two years ago, I had an 8th-grade education thanks to spending 35 years in a cult," the King of Queens alum began her Friday Instagram post, likely referring to the Church of Scientology, which she left in 2013. "And now, at age 52, I've successfully finished my second year at NYU."

The actress continued: "Undertaking this educational journey has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life. There have been days where I've thought about giving up. While I'm still not finished, I'm so glad I decided to dive in."

The Scientology and the Aftermath host concluded her message by urging followers to go after what they want, regardless of their age or where they are in life.

"If you have the desire and capacity, please remember that it's never too late to start again," Remini wrote.

Fans and friends flocked to the comment section to congratulate the Emmy Award winner, who thanked everyone for their "love and support" over the years in the caption of her post.

"Always the proudest," wrote longtime friend Michelle Visage.

In May 2021, Remini announced that she was accepted into NYU's associate program in liberal arts, sharing a screenshot of the admission letter that left her "in tears."

She added: "It took a lot for me to take this step, for fear that I was not smart enough, not worthy enough, not able to do the work that will be required, my age... I did it anyway with a lot of encouragement from a very special person in my life. I am ready to do the work and honestly, I'm scared s—tless! And I am excited to start on my journey. It's just never too late is it?"
