Lana Del Rey Donating All Tour Income Back to the Cities She Performs In
'I do it because I love it,' the 'Summertime Sadness' singer revealed on stage
Lana Del Rey is giving back to each city she visits on her current tour.
The "Summertime Sadness" singer revealed on stage that she is donating all of the proceeds from her tour right back to the city that she performed in.
"I just wanted to say thank you to you and just every city I’ve gone to before this … every ticket, every dollar, it is poured right back into the city," she said at a recent performance.
The moment was captured by an audience member at her West Virginia concert, which was the final stop on a recent leg of tour dates. The video was shared to TikTok, where it is already racking up over 16,000 views.
"It’s not about that for me, and I know that that sounds cheesy, but I do it because I love it," she shared. "I just love it and we’re all about the places we’ve been to."
The Grammy-nominated singer, who released her ninth studio album in March, just wrapped up a tour throughout the US, also performing in several festivals around the world.
Del Rey is no stranger to giving back. In 2020, she donated all of the advance sales from her spoken-word poetry book, Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass, to the Dig Deep Project. The charity focuses on getting clean water to the world’s most vulnerable populations.
