Kelly Clarkson Confirms She Has ‘No Beef’ With Carrie Underwood

In case you were wondering, there's no beef between American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

"People always pit us together," Clarkson said on Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen on Tuesday, "and we don't even know each other well enough to be pitted together."

The "Breakaway" singer rose to fame after winning Season 1 of the singing competition in 2001. Underwood followed in her footsteps winning Season 4 in 2005. Both women have gone on to have record-breaking music careers, though it sounds like their paths don't often cross.

"Like literally, we've run into each other a handful of times," Clarkson explained. "There's no beef between us. There's nothing between us, like, we don't know each other!"

However, Cohen clarified that he was only asking what it was like to have the "Before Her Cheats" singer as a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

"Look everybody always asks me the pitted against each other question," Clarkson responded. "But it was awesome. It was great to have her on the show."

"I don't know why they do that," the Mine singer continued. "They don't do it with dudes. They only do it with females."  

Last week, Clarkson dropped her tenth studio album, Chemistry, which chronicles her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Meanwhile, Underwood is going on tour this summer with her favorite band, Guns N' Roses.
