Jonathan Majors' attorneys have officially rested their case in the Creed III actor's domestic assault trial.

After New York City jurors heard from Detective Ronnie Mejia on Wednesday, Majors' attorneys wrapped up their defense. Majors was not called to the stand and will not testify as closing arguments are now set for Thursday.

Last week, jurors heard from Majors' ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, who read aloud texts that the actor had sent to her after a fight in September 2022 (an incident not in question in this trial). In the messages, Majors warned Jabbari not to go to the emergency room.

"I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital," Majors texted Jabbari at the time. "They will ask you questions, and as I don't think you actually protect us, it could lead to investigation even if you do lie and they suspect something."

"I will tell the doctor I bumped my head," Jabbari said Friday as she read her text outloud, before ADA Kelli Galaway chimed in to read the remainder of the exchange. "I'm going to give it one more day, but I can't sleep and I need some stronger pain killers, that's all. Why would I tell them what really happened when it's clear I want to be with you?"

The Ant-Man actor was first arrested March 25 in NYC and charged with assault, attempted assault, harassment and aggravated harassment after police said a domestic dispute with Jabbari allegedly led to her being hospitalized with minor injuries. Majors was also charged with suffocation, but that charge was later dropped.

While on the stand, Jabbari answered further questions about the events before and after the March altercation with Majors, including about the explosive cab ride over the Manhattan bridge.

Meanwhile, Majors' attorney, Priya Chaudhry, told the court his side of the story, claiming he was the one who emerged from the SUV with injuries. Chaudhry argued that, in fact, Majors was the one scared of Jabbari and ran away from her while she chased him through Manhattan streets. Driver Naveed Sarwar also claimed Jabbari was the aggressor in his Monday testimony.

Jabbari's friend Holly Blakey, a British choreographer, also took the witness stand on Friday to testify that she got a call the morning after the incident in March. "[Jabbari] sounded like I'd never heard her before, quite quiet, quite wrecked, sounded like she was in shock," Blakey testified.

Additionally, Judge Michael J. Gaffey told the court at the beginning of the trial two weeks ago, they would have to delay jury selection by a day due to the "highly unusual" nature of the case, as well as the circumstances surrounding Majors' team's call for the arrest of Jabbari.

Seven months after his initial arrest, Majors filed a cross-complaint against Jabbari, claiming she scratched and hit him and sustained her own injuries after falling down.

The Messenger previously reported that Jabbari was eventually charged with third-degree domestic assault and criminal mischief. However, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office told The Messenger that they would not be pursuing the charges against her.

Majors has denied all of Jabbari's allegations through his attorneys, and faces up to a year in jail if convicted. Closing statements will be held Thursday morning.
