John Cena and AEW Champ MJF Make Wrestling Worlds Collide at ‘Iron Claw’ Film Premiere
At Monday night's premiere of 'The Iron Claw' in Los Angeles, a 16-time WWE champion and the current AEW champ came face to face
On a night celebrating one of the most legendary pro-wrestling families in history, wrestling's past rubbed shoulders with wrestling's future.
At the premiere of The Iron Claw on Monday night, WWE icon John Cena posed for a photo with current AEW world champion MJF (also known as Maxwell Jacob Friedman).
The pair shook hands on the red carpet at the DGA Theater Complex, with MJF posting the snap on Instagram.
Naturally, fans from the rival wrestling companies couldn't help but have some fun with the momentous image.
"What a pleasure it must've been to be able to shake hands with such a legend," one fan commented. "Cena will be telling his grandkids about this day."
Another theorized that MJF might jump ship from AEW, writing, "MJF to WWE confirmed."

MJF has a small role in The Iron Claw, which stars Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White and tells the story of the legendary Von Erich wrestling family.
Cena posted a picture of himself with Efron and Kevin Von Erich, whom the High School Musical alum plays in the movie.
"Incredibly proud of @ZacEfron for an outstanding performance in @A24's #TheIronClaw," Cena wrote. "Thank you for doing the work to help introduce a new audience to one of our industry's most important families."
The Iron Claw hits theaters Dec. 22.
