Joey King is responding to her ex-boyfriend and former co-star Jacob Elordi's complaints about the Kissing Booth movies. The actor called the Netflix films "ridiculous" in a recent interview with GQ.

"I think it’s unfortunate anyone would feel that way," King told Variety in a recent interview. "I had a great time making those movies no matter what anyone says."

The actress starred alongside Elordi in all three Kissing Booth movies and dated the actor for over a year. The pair split in 2018.

While appearing on GQ's Men of the Year cover in November, Elordi told the magazine: "I didn't want to make those movies before I made those movies. Those movies are ridiculous. They're not universal. They’re an escape."

His co-star Taylor Zakhar Perez, who played Marco Valentin Peña in the films, weighed in on Elordi's comments in a Nov. 17 interview with Variety, saying that everybody else had a "wonderful experience" working on the franchise.

"It's a shame that was his experience on the set," the actor said. "Especially when those movies came out, it was a time when we really needed something like that."

He added, "I know from our fan interactions, getting stopped everywhere I go, what Kissing Booth means to people and what it brought them during such a dark time. I guess the silver lining is he still made people laugh and feel good."
