Joanna Gaines Celebrates 20 Years of Magnolia Brand with Husband Chip Gaines

The couple founded Magnolia, which now includes shops, restaurants, TV and books, in 2003 — the same year they got married

Joanna Gaines is celebrating her 20th anniversary with husband Chip Gaines, as well as their company, Magnolia.

The HGTV star shared two commemorative posts to Instagram on Sunday to look back at the company's successes (and misadventures) since the couple founded it in 2003 — the same year they got married.

"Here's to 20 years of Magnolia. Back in 2003, we could have never dreamed of any of this," Joanna wrote. "Grateful for the wonderful memories, the mistakes and mishaps, and all the miracles along the way. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us."

In the first post, Joanna shared photos taken at an anniversary party at their company's Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. The pair can be seen toasting to 20 years of business, embracing for a kiss on the cheek and enjoying fireworks together.

She also shared another post featuring some throwback photos of Magnolia's early years, including their old storefront in Texas and photos of the couple as newlyweds.

"A scroll down memory lane @magnolia #20years," the Fixer Upper star wrote.

The couple also wed in 2003, just months before opening up Magnolia Market together. The Gaines, as well as Magnolia, shot to fame in 2013 after the premiere of Fixer Upper. Since then, the Magnolia brand has undergone major expansions, and the umbrella now includes a realty company, a bakery and coffee shop, a seed and supply shop and much more.

"When you think about people who want to be on television, that's the endgame," Chip previously told Variety. "For Joanna and me, we were small-business owners who happened to get on television."

"For us, there hasn't been a playbook, which I would say is why we have many sleepless nights, because there's no other business that you can say, 'Well, they did this in the last 10 years and it's worked,'" Joanna added at the time. "It feels a bit lonely on this side of it. But, thankfully, I've got Chip here with me. I feel like every other day we're just jumping and holding our breath."
