Jerry Seinfeld Denies Telling Jimmy Fallon to Apologize to Employees in Exposé Alleging Toxic Workplace
Jerry Seinfeld is speaking out about a particular story featured in a 'Rolling Stone' exposé about 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
Jerry Seinfeld is refuting an anecdote about himself and Jimmy Fallon in an exposé published by Rolling Stone Thursday about the talk show host's alleged toxic behavior.
In the article, two employees reported that Fallon "scolded" a crew member holding cue cards, which allegedly led Seinfeld, who was a guest on the show, to step in.
"It was very awkward, and Jerry was like, 'You should apologize to him,' almost trying to make it a joke," a former employee claimed. "It was one of the strangest moments ever and so many people were there, so it's kind of hard to forget."
Seinfeld responded in a statement to Rolling Stone, negating that particular story.
"This is so stupid. I remember this moment quite well... I teased Jimmy about a flub, and we all had a fun laugh about how rarely Jimmy is thrown off," he said. "It was not uncomfortable at all. Jimmy and I still occasionally recall it and laugh. Idiotic twisting of events."
Two current and 14 former employees on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon have come forward with allegations about Fallon and the talk show host's work environment.
Former employees reported that Fallon's alleged "outbursts" and unpredictable behavior would have those around him walking on eggshells — "especially showrunners."

Another former employee alleged: "Nobody told Jimmy, 'No.' You never knew which Jimmy we were going to get and when he was going to throw a hissy fit. Look how many showrunners went so quickly. We know they didn't last long."
In response to a request for comment from The Messenger, an NBC spokesperson provided the following statement:
"We are incredibly proud of The Tonight Show, and providing a respectful working environment is a top priority. As in any workplace, we have had employees raise issues; those have been investigated and action has been taken where appropriate. As is always the case, we encourage employees who feel they have experienced or observed behavior inconsistent with our policies to report their concerns so that we may address them accordingly."
