It sounds like Jeremy Allen White may not be donning a superhero cape anytime soon.

That's because the Bear actor revealed in an interview with GQ published on Tuesday that he recently met with executives for a "kind of Marvel-y movie" — and it was a quick fail.

"I had an attitude," White explained. "I think I played it all wrong." He added that he said, " Tell me about why should I do your movie," which didn't go over well.

"They were like, 'F--- you,'" the actor recalled. "I was like, 'Right on.'"

However, the Shameless alum also told the outlet he doesn't have regrets about the meeting, noting, "I played it the way I wanted to play it."

White further noted, "I am confused at how the pinnacle of an actor's career has ended up in that place."

Outside of the superhero world, his next cinematic venture is the upcoming A24 film Iron Claw, which tells the true story of the Von Erich brothers and their professional wrestling career in the 1980s.

Alongside co-stars Zac Efron and Harris Dickinson, White spent much of his time prepping for the film by eating and working out. "They were embodying actual wrestlers," director Sean Durkin told GQ. "[White] could wrestle professionally. He had this natural ability that our wrestling coaches said was just really, really rare."
