Jenelle Evans’ Husband David Eason Says ‘Nobody Understands’ His Relationship With Her Son Jace Amid CPS Investigation

While Jenelle Evans and David Eason are currently at the center of a Child Protective Services investigation after the Teen Mom 2 star's teenage son, Jace, was reported missing for a third time last month, the reality TV star's husband seemingly wants to clear the air about his relationship with his stepson.

"Nobody understands our relationship and that's fine because they don't need to!" Eason wrote Instagram Wednesday, alongside a series of photos of him and 14-year-old Jace.

Earlier that same day, Jenelle — who got full custody of Jace in March after years of feuding with her mom, Barbara Evans — posted a video to Instagram of herself straightening her hair while singing along to the Kesha song "Praying," with a lengthy caption calling out her mother.

"I cannot begin to explain how badly my name is being smeared because of false allegations that all came from my mom's mouth to begin with," she shared. "There's always two sides to every story and right now you're only hearing one side: hers. I have been instructed how to handle my situation with her by multiple parties."

"I'm not going to let her continue to make me miserable and distract living my life," Jenelle added. "I'm not going to continue to let her control my emotions. She has traumatized my entire family so much growing up, she's always made me afraid of her. I'm not afraid anymore and I need to realize she can't control me. I control my own family and my own sanity. She can use all the third-party tactics she desires but she knows the truth. God knows the truth. I'm sick of holding her peace to let everyone rattle my own."

"Please, I need all the prayers and support as possible for my family and my husband," she continued. "I talk to detectives everyday about this situation and the media has it wrong. I need my son's mental health protected so please I'm begging the media PLEASE STOP, your information is false and I will prove it very soon. Love you guys!"

In August, Jenelle addressed Jace's mental health after the teen ran away for the second time within two weeks (He was first reported missing on Aug. 15, but he had been found hours after).

"A lot of my son's actions is being pinned against me, and I'm getting a lot of hate, a lot of comments," the former MTV star said in a TikTok video. "It just keeps going and going and going." 

"My son has been having a hard time for the past two, three years," she continued. "None of this has gone public because we're trying to keep his privacy. Me and my mom, when she gave me custody, she's like, 'Oh we're just getting along, I'm just gonna give Jenelle back [custody].' Well, there was a big reason behind why I got him back." 

While Jenelle didn't further explain the reason, she did encourage parents to keep a close eye on their children.

"I will say one thing, monitor your kids' phones," she said. "If they're teenagers, and they have apps, they're on Snapchat... Snapchat is a bad one... because I monitor my kid's phone, and sometimes they get in trouble, and sometimes they get it taken away for the consequences for their actions. Sometimes they don't take that too lightly... it's kind of like an addiction to them because they're so attached to it."

On Wednesday, North Carolina law enforcement officials confirmed to The Messenger that Jenelle and David are currently being investigated for child neglect.
