Jared Fields Returns to ‘Big Brother’ Amid Calls for His Removal for Disability Slur
Audiences are taking to social media to ask why he's still in the house
On Sunday night's episode of Big Brother, controversial contestant Jared Fields was still making moves despite calls for his removal from the long-lived CBS reality competition series.
Friday, on the show's live feeds, Fields was overheard using the "R-word" when describing another contestant's strategy and later said, "I don't think she's the R-word. I slipped up. Obviously, I was angry about it [and] I'm willing to admit that."
On Sunday night's new episode, though, Fields continued his gameplay apiece. He informed fellow contestant Jag that he would not be evicted, despite Cirie's request to keep that move a secret. He then went on to win Head of Household once again and reveal that Red and Cameron are nominated for eviction in the coming episode.
Previously in Season 25, contestant Luke Valentine was quickly removed from the show after saying the "N-word" on the live feeds, with CBS and producers saying in a statement, "Luke violated the Big Brother code of conduct, and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur. He has been removed from the house. His departure will be addressed in Thursday night's show." His removal was then addressed in the subsequent episode, as promised by the network.
Some Big Brother fans have reacted to Fields' return for Sunday night's episode with disdain on social media, reissuing calls for his ouster from the house.

However, a production source told The Messenger that producers haven't yet determined what to do about Fields' use of the "R-word."
"He did use the R-word. He has apologized to Cory for using the R-word. It's on the feeds. It's on Twitter. Not the original thing he said, but the apology for saying it," the insider explained. "So what do we do? We just expelled someone for using the N-word."
The Messenger has reached out to CBS for comment on Fields' statements.
Big Brother airs on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on CBS. And watch free live feeds on Pluto TV.
