Jamie Lynn Spears Joins ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ Will Donate Salary to SAG and WGA

Jamie Lynn Spears is putting on her dancing shoes. The Zoey 101 actress was announced as the latest cast member on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.

Spears appeared on Tuesday's Good Morning America to break the big news alongside partner Alan Bersten.

During an interview with GMA co-host Lara Spencer, Spears revealed she's dancing for a good cause.

"I'm ready to challenge myself, and also being able to do it for a reason that means a lot to me while everybody in my community is on strike," Spears said. "I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work. So, I figured I'll do this and I'll donate my weekly salary to SAG and WGA and give back to them in a time when they can't even give to themselves."

Spears joins previously-announced cast members Ariana Madix and Charity Lawson as competitors on season 32 of Dancing With the Stars, which premieres Sept. 26 on ABC.

The Messenger also exclusively revealed that actress Mira Sorvino is expected to join the cast.

The full cast will be announced Wednesday on Good Morning America.
