Jacob Elordi Snuck Into a Movie Theater to See ‘Saltburn’

'I was taken by how much of a kind of immersive, interactive experience it was,' Jacob Elordi says

Saltburn star Jacob Elordi has revealed that he snuck into a theater to see his own movie.

"I snuck into a theater back home in Australia. They were doing a screening of it a couple of weeks ago, and I sat in the back and watched it, and I was taken by how much of a kind of immersive, interactive experience it was," the actor told Entertainment Weekly in a new interview.

"I haven't been in a theater where people audibly groan and say 'no!' So that was a real treat. I feel like it was almost like a trip back to what going to the cinema would've been like when it was sort of the sole form of entertainment."

Written and directed by Emerald Fennell, who won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for her 2020 film Promising Young Woman, Saltburn is a twisty satirical thriller about an Oxford student (Barry Keoghan) who worms his way into the aristocratic life of his handsome schoolmate (Elordi).

"I'd had a sit down with Emerald, and if you spend five minutes with her, you'll follow her wherever she's going to go," Elordi added. "So I was in a spot where I really, really wanted to make whatever it was that she was making after we spoke, and then I got the script, and then it was like, 'Oh, f---, I really have to do this.'"
