Iggy Azalea is saying hello to the new year by saying goodbye to new music.

After months of speculation, the "Fancy" rapper has confirmed that she will not be finishing her planned fourth studio album.

"It's been paused for a few months while I was giving direction for a different project and in truth, I just haven't felt the urge to go back to it," Azalea shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. "I know a lot of people have this idea that I was 'bullied away from music' and that's something I've always laughed at because I'd never be bullied out of anything! In fact, I'm too stubborn."

Instead, Azalea said she's been feeling much more passion about design and creative direction than songwriting.

"I feel really happy and passionate in my day to day life when my mind's focused on that and so I want to stick to what's undeniably best for me," she explained. "Can't wait to start sharing some of the things I've been involved in creating and hoping you'll see my quirk and humor in anything I touch!"

Throughout her music career, Azalea has found success with songs like "Problem" and "Black Widow" climbing the charts. Her third studio album, aptly named The End of an Era, dropped in August 2021.

But as the four-time Grammy nominee looks towards the future, she can't help but acknowledge the loyal fans who have been hoping for new music.

"I know for some fans this probably makes you feel a little deflated. I'm sorry to let you down," Azalea wrote. "But, it's more important I don't let myself down. I hope you'll understand."
