‘Good Morning America’ Correspondent Rachel Scott Is Engaged

Wedding bells are ringing for Good Morning America's Rachel Scott! The correspondent announced her engagement on Monday's installment of the national show.

"Big news from our GMA family to kick off 2024," Robin Roberts said during the episode. "Our Rachel Scott is engaged!"

The fellow anchors applauded as Scott detailed her now-fiancé Elliott Smiths's proposal.

"I gotta admit this one was a total surprise," she confessed. "We saw the gazebo with all of the rose petals and the flowers. I actually thought it was there for someone else."

She continued, "I thought we were going to ruin someone else's engagement. It turned out to be our own."

The Emmy-winning journalists noted that Roberts also "said yes to marriage" about a year ago. Roberts and Amber Laign tied the knot in September and hosted a second wedding last month.

"I am so excited to say yes to marriage this year," she said. "So please guys, send me all your newlywed, all your engagement tips, we're taking it all."

An excited Roberts beamed that she "can actually give advice now" as she told the future bride, "You're already glowing."

Scott and Smith also celebrated their forthcoming union on Instagram with images from the romantic proposal.

They kept the caption simple with, "YES! 💍🤍"
