'My heart is aching. Praying for all of those in pain,' the 'Wonder Woman' actress said on Instagram
Gal Gadot, who was born and raised in Israel and served as Miss Israel 2004, spoke out Saturday on social media about the ongoing deadly conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas militants which began earlier in the day.
The Wonder Woman actress posted a Star of David to her Instagram, writing, "I stand with Israel you should too. The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!"
She also posted screenshots of BBC News coverage related to the conflict, as well as a statement from Israeli President Isaac Herzog denouncing "the cold-blooded murder of innocent men, women and children."
"At least 200 Israeli have been murdered and dozens of women children and elders held as hostages in Gaza, by Hamas," Gadot wrote. "Starting early morning more than 3,000 rockets were fire. Hamas is holding hostages, controlling bases and settlements in Israel. There have been more than 1000 injured and heavy fighting is still ongoing."
'"I hear their voices and they are banging on the door. I am with my two little children,'" Gadot excerpted from a BBC article, adding in her own words, "My heart is aching. Praying for all of those in pain."
