Gal Gadot Says the World Has ‘Failed the Women’ After Hamas Attack

'This is our moment as women and allies of women to act,' Gal Gadot shared when calling for the release of every female hostage

Gal Gadot is once again speaking out about the violence committed by Hamas during the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel.

In a new social media post, the actress addressed the ongoing danger female hostages face, in particular, as they approach three months of captivity.

"The world has failed the women of October 7th," Gadot wrote on Instagram Sunday. "We claim we stand against rape, violence against women. We will not let women be victimized and then silenced. We say we believe women, stand with women, speak out for women."

One memory Gadot said she can't forget is the video of 23-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist Shani Louk "being paraded naked and defiled by her proud assailants."

"Yet two months later, women are still hostage to these rapists and the world has failed to call this situation what it is: an urgent emergency that demands a decisive response," she wrote. "This is our moment as women and allies of women to act."

Gadot asked all those who have worked for women's rights globally — including the United Nations and the Human Rights Community — to "join in the demand that Hamas release every single woman hostage immediately."

"Not after the next round of international mediation, not after another day," she concluded. "These women cannot survive another moment of this horror."

In recent weeks, Gadot has used her platform to speak out about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Back in October, the Wonder Woman star signed an open letter released by the non-profit entertainment industry organization Creative Community For Peace in support of Israel.

One month later, Gadot organized a screening of the controversial documentary Bearing Witness. The project features 45 minutes of Hamas' attack against Israeli citizens.
