Gal Gadot Plans to Screen Raw Hamas Footage From Israel — and Some Jewish Orgs Slam Her for It
Gal Gadot plans to show 45 minutes of the terrorist group's attack on civilians last month, in a film titled 'Bearing Witness'
Gal Gadot's choice to screen footage of the horrific violence Hamas inflicted on Israelis is getting some pushback.
The actress plans to show 45 minutes of the terrorist group's attack on civilians last month, in a film titled Bearing Witness. Around 120 people have been invited to a Los Angeles screening, and more viewings might happen down the line, TMZ reported Tuesday.
The outlet spoke to Jewish Voice for Peace, an organization against the Zionist movement, which called Gadot's screening a "propaganda event" that will "[fan] the flames of war and genocide."
Alliance for Middle East Peace, a coalition that includes tens of thousands of Palestinians and Israelis, told TMZ that there has been "very disturbing denial and obfuscation of the terrible crimes," which happened against Israelis during the Hamas attack.
However, the group cautioned against Gadot's choice to screen the violent footage. "We are dealing with increasingly traumatized people — both in the region and around the world — who have been exposed to images, both in the attacks in Israel and now the airstrikes in Gaza, that they cannot unsee," they explained.
The Messenger has reached out to a rep for Gadot for comment.

Gadot, herself, has spoken out against propaganda, taking to Instagram on Oct. 10 to discourage what she said would "dehumanize" Israelis and Gazans.
"I like to think most of us are above propaganda. But this weekend reminded me how widespread it is. Because a lot of people reacted to this violence with justification, not empathy," she wrote. "I guess it's not surprising, but it's still heartbreaking. Propaganda is everywhere. It seeps into us over time. It seeks to block our empathy receptors. So when we see violence, we rationalize away our human response."
