Amber Heard's billionaire ex-boyfriend Elon Musk reportedly threatened to go "scorched earth" on Warner Bros. if the studio didn't bring her back for Aquaman 2.

The actress, who starred as Mera in the film's first installment, was nearly nixed from the sequel over lack of chemistry with her co-star Jason Momoa, according to a report from Variety published today.

Warner Bros. and director James Wan wanted to fire Heard and even sent a letter to her attorney informing him of the decision, per the outlet. That's when Musk, who Heard dated for a year following her 2017 divorce from Johnny Depp, reportedly sent a "scorched-earth letter to Warner Bros. threatening to burn the house down" if she wasn't brought back for the sequel. The studio ultimately capitulated following the threat, a source told Variety.

Musk did not respond to Variety's or The Messenger's request for comment. Reps for Warner Bros. and Heard also did not immediately respond to The Messenger's comment request.

Heard spoke out about her role in Aquaman 2 during Depp's $50 million defamation lawsuit against her in May, saying that she had to fight to keep her role of Mera, which she claimed was pared down because of Depp's accusations that her abuse claims were a "hoax."

"I was given a script, then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it," Heard testified. "That depicted my character and another character — without giving any spoilers away — two characters fighting with one another. They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch."

Former DC Films president Walter Hamada countered her claims in a video deposition delivered on May 24, saying that the studio had considered recasting Heard due to chemistry issues with Momoa.

"The reality is, it's not uncommon on movies for two leads to not have chemistry," he said. "You can fabricate, sort of, that chemistry. So I think at the end of the day, I think if you watch the movie, they look like they have great chemistry. But I just know that through the course of the post-production, it took a lot of effort to get there."

Heard appears briefly in the trailer for Aquaman 2, which was released last month. The movie hits theaters on Dec. 20.
