Ed Sheeran Cancels Vegas Show Last Minute as Fans Faint, Vomit in Heat Waiting to Get In

Grammy-winner Ed Sheeran canceled his concert in Las Vegas Saturday less than two hours before the performance was scheduled to start as his fans suffered outside in triple-digit heat.

As Sheeran was preparing to drop the show, fans were fainting and even vomiting from extreme heat as they lined up under full sun to get into Allegiant Stadium, several witnesses reported on social media.

One fan told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he saw at least 5 people being taken away in wheelchairs, and 2 others on the scene said they carried a passed out woman to a medical tent.

An apologetic Sheeran informed fans on Instagram about the cancellation.

He didn't detail the issue, but it sounded like a production problem.

"I can't believe I'm typing this but there's been some challenges encountered during the load in of our Vegas show," he told fans.

"It's impossible to go forward with the show. I'm so sorry," he added. "I know everyone has travelled in for this and I wish I could change it."

The show is now postponed to Saturday October 28, and tickets for the cancelled show will be good that day.

"I'm so, so sorry x," Sheeran wrote. 

Disappointed fans complained about the heat outside then venue, then being let in only to be told there would be no show.

Allegiant Stadium issued a statement apologizing for the delays and cancellation, and acknowledged the heat was a serious problem.

"Stadium doors were opened at 5:05 pm to get fans out of the heat, and we have ensured that anyone requiring assistance has received it," the statement said.

Sheeran soothed some by walking among his fans and posing for selfies with them.
