Drake Confirms Release Date for New Album ‘For All the Dogs’
Drake's eighth full-length will be out September 22
Drake has shared that his new album, For All the Dogs, will be released on September 22. The announcement came in an Instagram post that also featured a vintage video of his father, Dennis Graham, performing a blues cover in a club.
The album is a companion to his debut poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything, which came out in June. He teased the upcoming album earlier in his It's All A Blur Tour and revealed its cover artwork, a ghostly crayon dog designed by his son Adonis, just last month.
The day Drake released his poetry book, he teased fans and newspaper readers alike with ads in The New York Times and other publications, featuring a QR code printed above a photo of two puppies and text reading "For all the dogs." This code led to titlesruineverything.com, which showed a blank white screen with the words "I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS."
After the announcement, Dennis Graham wrote on Instagram, "I had the pleasure of sitting in my Son’s dressing room and listening to this new album and I must say that it is some of the best music that I’ve heard him do, and I am sure that every Drake fan throughout the entire world is going feel this one, everything about For All The Dogs is what we’ve been waiting for, Congratulations Son I really feel this one."
For All The Dogs will be Drake's eighth studio album, following 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind. The rapper also dropped a collaborative LP with 21 Savage titled Her Loss last November. Honestly, Nevermind was Drake’s 11th project to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and his 14th full-length album to reach the Top 10. This year, Drake took home the Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance with Future and Tems for "Wait for U."
Drake has been keeping busy this summer with his ongoing It's All A Blur Tour, wrapping this leg in early October. Along the way, the star has given fans Birkin bags and 50,000-dollar checks, and in return received a massive collection of bras thrown on stage.
