Every Celebrity Drake Calls Out on His New EP, From Taylor Swift to Kanye West
On 'Scary Hours 3,' Drake shouts out Larry David, James Harden, Ice Spice and more
Mere hours after releasing his eighth studio album For All the Dogs last month, Drake announced he'd be taking a year-long break from music. Well, he's officially gone back on his word.
The Toronto rapper released a new surprise EP, Scary Hours 3, Friday. It's not an EP in the traditional sense; rather, it's a new edition of For All the Dogs plus six bonus tracks. Drake ditches the sing-rapping for straightforward bars — and a lot of name-checking — on the new singles. These kinds of shout-outs are pretty standard practice, but Drizzy's mentions are overflowing. Here's everyone Drake calls out on Scary Hours 3.
Taylor Swift
The name-drop getting the most attention is, of course, Taylor Swift. On the opening track "Red Button," Drake raps in support of Swift, saying she's the only artist who'd make him consider delaying an album release. "Taylor Swift the only n---- that I ever rated/ Only one could make me drop the album just a little later/ Rest of y'all, I treat you like you never made it."
Drake and Swift go way back, and they've long-competed for top ranks on the Billboard Hot 100. When Swift released Midnights last year, Drake decided to postpone his joint album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, which eventually trumped Midnights on the album chart.
Kanye West
Swift and Drake also share a common enemy. On "Red Button," Drake also references tensions between him and Kanye West (who now goes by Ye). "Every time that Yeezy called a truce, he had my head inflated/ Thinkin' we gon' finally peace it up and get to levitatin'," he raps. "Realize that everything premeditated/ Everyone was good with me, then everyone expression faded." Previously, Drake has dissed Ye on tracks like "Circo Loco" from Her Loss. He even sampled audio of Kim Kardashian talking about her divorce from Ye on "Search & Rescue."

Larry David
Towards the end of the opening track, Drake is listing off threats and closes with a reference to everyone's favorite curmudgeon. The lyrics read, "I'll f---in' find out wherever y'all are celebratin'/ Pull up, park my Phantom on the curb like I'm Larry David/ And then we'll see who's really crazy."
Despite what the sentence structure might lead you to believe, Drake is referencing David's show Curb Your Enthusiasm and not insinuating David drives a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
James Harden
Drake takes shots at Los Angeles Clippers basketball player James Harden on "The Shoe Fits," rapping, "She like, 'Shh, quiet, everybody, the game started/ My new boo hoopin' tonight, and he said he play at the Garden/ He said if I ain't watching, then that n---- ain't startin'/ She point to the guy that she talkin' 'bout, and it's James Harden." He goes on, "Damn, dog/ Lost your girl to The Sniper, huh?"
Pusha T
He reignites his longtime feud with Pusha T on "Wick Man," referencing a lyric from Pusha's 2018 Drake diss track "The Story of Adidon." Drake raps, "Man, I remember n----s was joking 'bout some tick, tick/ And now that rapper broke as f---, that boy a statistic."
Ice Spice
Drake makes a passing reference to newcomer Ice Spice on "Wick Man." He raps, "She wanted some opportunity, we wasn't given a bunch/ Her ex would eat away at her soul," before repeating Ice Spice's signature line, "That n---- a munch," from her breakout single "Munch (Feelin' U)."
John Cena
Drizzy compares battling his emotions to a certain wrestler-turned actor on "Wick Man," rapping, "I'm almost expressionless/ John Cena wouldn't know emotions I wrestlе with."
Lil Yachty
Drake recruited Lil Yachty to help produce For All the Dogs, and on "Wick Man," he nods to his contributions, rapping, "Boat say he the recipe, I must be the key ingredient."
6ix9ine
On "Stories About My Brother," Drake calls someone a snitch by comparing them to rapper 6ix9ine, who pleaded guilty and cooperated with prosecutors after being indicted on charges including armed robbery and drug trafficking. Instead of a life sentence, he served two years in prison. "Y'all the type to catch a charge, head to the deposition," Drake raps. "And act like the rapper named after the sex position."
Kobe Bryant
Drake throws out more disses, seemingly at Ye: "That one day you wake up and tell 'em, 'Enough is enough'/That's how you gon' find out you not Kobe Bryant to us/ Man, you not Kobe Bryant to us, at all/ And if them hoes really love you, then them hoes, they lyin' to us."
Joe Budden
Drake's opponent on "Stories About My Brother" may be rapper-turned-critic Joe Budden, who panned For All the Dogs upon its release, leading to a string of angry DMs. "Imagine us getting our validation from an ex-musician searching for recognition/ Same story every time, they heckle in repetition," Drake raps. "I'm top of the mountain, these n----s still down at base camp, they planning they expedition."
Paramore
On "Stories About My Brother," Drake sings as much praise as he does insults. He raps about the successes of his unnamed "brother" and their trusting relationship, at one point rapping, "It's me, him, and a white ting, we movin' like Paramore."
The Chainsmokers
"My brother a flame thrower," Drake raps. "It's like he playin' EDM, that n---- a chain smoker."
The Beatles
His song with J. Cole, "Evil Ways," compares Drake's success to that of the Beatles. "To find your way up to the top, this sh-- gon' be a maze," he raps. "Volkswagen, sh-- the way I'm runnin' Beatles' plays."
Rosalía
Drake also takes the opportunity to shoot his shot with Rosalía: "Next time I get in Rosalía face/ I hope she tell her people that we need some space."
Lil Uzi Vert
Drake curses his exes on "You Broke My Heart." One line pays homage to Lil Uzi Vert's lyric, "Push me to the edge/ All my friends are dead," from his 2017 hit song "XO Tour Llif3." Drake raps, "You broke my heart/ I had my doubts about you from the start/ Pushed to the edge like Vert."
