Alyssa Farah Griffin Says Trump Is Only Running for President to ‘Stay Out of Jail’
'I’m frankly sick of the fact that more Republican voters aren’t mad that he’s not working for their votes,' said the 'View' co-host
Alyssa Farah Griffin thinks Donald Trump has his sights set on a return to the Oval Office in an effort to avoid living in a jail cell.
With the former President currently facing four separate criminal cases and 91 different criminal charges, Farah Griffin — who worked as Trump's Director of Strategic Communications for a brief time during his first term — said his political motives are clear on The View.
"I think what we can’t lose in all this is that Donald Trump is running for President to stay out of jail," the co-host alleged on Friday's episode. "Just hands down."
Farah Griffin also noted that, if it seems like Trump is spending a lot of time in courtrooms right now, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
"If you think he’s been in court a lot now, wait until the general election," she said. "This summer, he is going to be on trial for the January 6 charges, he’s likely going to have his former Vice President [Mike Pence] testify against him [and] his former Chief of Staff [Mark Meadows].
In addition, Farah Griffin wondered why some Republican voters aren't more enraged about his lack of political effort as the election kicks into high gear.

"He has spent a significant amount of time in courtrooms, not showing up nearly as much as other candidates in Iowa and New Hampshire to earn Republicans’ votes," she pointed out. "I’m frankly sick of the fact that more Republican voters aren’t mad that he’s not working for their votes."
As Farah Griffin summarized, "10 months from now, you could have the first-ever convicted felon elected President in the United States."
Trump has previously responded to accusations like Farah Griffin's, most notably by former Rep. Will Hurd — who was seeking the Republican Presidential nomination at the time — who said the Apprentice star was only running to "stay out of prison" in July.
“In Iowa last night I noticed that a little known, failed former Congressman, Will Hurd, is ridiculously running for President,” Trump responded on social media app Truth Social. “He got SERIOUSLY booed off the stage when he said I was running 'to stay out of jail.' Wrong, if I wasn’t running, or running and doing badly (like him & [Chris] Christie!), with no chance to win, these prosecution would never have been brought or happened!"
