David Beckham Gave Victoria Beckham This Gift 27 Years Ago – and She Doesn’t Leave Home Without It

'This is very special to me,' the fashion designer said in a new video posted to Instagram

Victoria Beckham is still carrying around the sentimental gift that husband David Beckham gave her nearly three decades ago.

"This is very special to me," the fashion designer began in a video for Vogue's "In the Bag" segment on Instagram. "This is a silver credit card holder that my husband bought me 27 years ago, and it's engraved on the inside. I don't want to tell you what it says, but I keep my credit cards in here and this is very special to me, and I don't leave my house without it."

Though the former Spice Girl stayed mum on what's engraved on the credit card holder, multiple social media users gave their best guess as to what the inscription reads.

"'Please lock the door when you leave the house!'" one Instagram user guessed in the comments section, while another added, "Whatever you buy… our love is higher."

David and Victoria's high-profile romance – from when they met in 1997 to present day – is heavily featured on the hit Netflix docuseries, Beckham, which premiered on the streaming service last month.

The four-part series explores David's life and career, including his most monumental – and controversial – moments. Both he and Victoria addressed rumors that he had an affair in 2004 while he was playing for Real Madrid in Spain following a storied run with Manchester United.

"It was the hardest period for us because it felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing, we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest," Victoria admitted. "Up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other. But when we were in Spain it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad."

He added, "I don’t know how we got through it in all honesty. Victoria's everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult. But we’re fighters. And at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for. But ultimately, it’s our private life."

David and Victoria met in 1997 and tied the knot in 1999. Together they share four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
