Damson Idris is using social media to share an important message.

On Monday, the Snowfall star took to Instagram to express his disgust for the "unprovoked hatred" he's noticed towards young stars.

"I see so much unprovoked hatred towards Black women today by predominantly grown Black men," he wrote in an Instagram Story. "Especially towards our young stars that are just trying to do their thing.

"The compulsion to humble these women perhaps makes you feel like more of a man. I promise you, you aren't men to us. A new year is approaching. Grow up."

While it's unclear what prompted the message, the actor has been dealing with the aftermath of his breakup from Lori Harvey for the past month.

Last month, Idris and Harvey announced their split after one year together.

"We are at a point in our lives where our individual paths require our full attention and dedication," the couple said in a joint statement to the Hollywood Reporter. "We part ways remaining friends with nothing but love and respect for each other and the time we shared together."

Though it seems the exes parted ways amicably, Harvey has wiped her Instagram of any trace of Idris and their relationship. Idris also appeared to delete photos of himself and Harvey from his Instagram page.

Harvey and Idris first sparked dating rumors in December last year after they were spotted out and about following the model's split from Creed star Michael B. Jordan
