Caitlyn Jenner is shedding light on where her relationship stands with ex Kris Jenner

"I really never talk to [Kris] anymore. Yeah, it's sad," the Olympic gold medalist told hosts Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson on iTV's This Morning while promoting the new three-part tell-all series House of Kardashian. "If there's any communication, my manager kind of talks to her, and when you have as many kids as I have, you're closer to some than you are to others."

Caitlyn has six children from previous relationships: son Burt Jenner and daughter Cassandra Marino with ex Chrystie Scott; sons Brandon Jenner and Brody Jenner with ex Linda Thompson and daughters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner with Kris.

She continued: "I certainly see them, and we do this and that. I'm much closer to the Jenner side, but Kris, I don't really have any more contact with her. It's kind of sad because we went through a lot."

Caitlyn went on to recall how her and Kris' relationship began, noting that she had been single for six years and "really kind of struggling with myself and who I was and how I fit into the world."

She added: "I was just turning 40 and met Kris on a blind date, we hit it off from day one. Was it love at first sight? Pretty close to that, yes. I was totally impressed with her and how she lived her life — she had four kids, I had four kids… and we got married five-and-a-half months later! It was very quick."

The exes wed in April 1991 before becoming officially divorced in March 2015.

Despite the former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star's admission about her nearly non-existent relationship with the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch, Caitlyn praised her stepchildren — Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian and Rob Kardashian — for all they've accomplished in life.

"I'm a parent, I love my children… and you know the Kardashian side and a little bit of the Jenner side, but I think a lot of times in the media you get totally misrepresented, so I wanted to do it just to say first of all how much I love my kids, and second of all how proud I am of them and what they've been able to accomplish," she explained, adding of the forthcoming House of Kardashians docuseries, "It is an amazing story."

Though there has yet to be word of a U.S. distribution deal for the series, it's set to air in the U.K. on Oct. 8 on Sky Documentaries and streaming service Now.

Season 4 of The Kardashians is currently airing on Hulu.
