Britney Spears’ Memoir Boosts Streams of Her Music
The 'Toxic' singer’s catalog racked up 8.89 million on-demand streams in America in the four days prior to her book's publication
Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, isn’t only flying off the shelves, it’s prompting fans to revisit her music, giving her a significant bump in download sales and streams.
Billboard reports that in the four days just prior to the release of the book, songs in the “Toxic” singer’s catalog racked up 8.89 million on-demand streams in America. That’s a 21% increase from the previous Friday through Monday (Oct. 13-16), which had 7.34 million streams, according to Luminate.
In addition, Spear’s digital sales in America more than doubled during the same four-day periods, with less than 1,000 from Oct. 13-16 to 2,300 the following week.
Meanwhile, Spears proclaimed on Tuesday night that The Woman in Me made history on its publication day.
“It’s happening ✨🤓📖 !!! My book is the highest selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1!!!,” she wrote in a post on Tuesday night. “Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all 🌹 !!! #TheWomanInMe @gallerybooks @simonandschuster”
The Messenger reached out to a representative of Simon & Schuster for confirmation.
Prior to the book’s release, it had already topped Amazon’s Best Seller’s list, with the retailer offering the title at 40% off prior to its publication.

However, claims The Woman in Me is the fastest-selling nonfiction book in history may be premature, since no official bookseller data has been released on the title as of yet, Newsweek cautioned.
Excerpts from the book have dominated entertainment news headlines with several startling revelations over the last week, even temporarily threatening Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s reign as the top entertainment topic. And on Tuesday, excerpts of the audiobook version of The Woman in Me had gone viral on X with an excerpt focusing on Britney's feelings on her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, garnering more than 285k views.
