Britney Spears Reflects on Ex Sam Asghari In Tell-All Memoir

In The Woman In Me, Britney Spears gives new details about her relationship and marriage to model and actor Hesam "Sam" Asghari. While the pair split this summer 14 months after their wedding, the singer's book captures the happier moments in their relationship.

"I knew I wanted him in my life immediately," Spears wrote of their first meeting, according to PageSix. "The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other."

The 29-year-old Iranian first starred as Spears's love interest in her 2016 "Slumber Party" music video. In January 2017, the "...Baby One More Time" singer officially announced their newfound relationship status with a New Years Day Instagram post.

Spears added that she has "an appreciation for how stable" the actor is and was a supportive part of her fight against her conservatorship. She recounts how he held her hand during her June 2021 hearing where she spoke out about her experience for the first time in court.

For several years, the two enjoyed the trappings of new love while the pop star continued living under her conservatorship. On September 12, 2021, Asghari proposed to Spears with a ring designed by New York City jeweler Roman Malayev. That same year, she was freed from her conservatorship in November.

Spears announced they were having a baby in April 2022, then updated fans about her subsequent miscarriage in May via Instagram.

The couple tied the knot on June 9, 2022, during a small ceremony in Los Angeles. The following year, rumors would begin to circulate as both Spears and Asghari were spotted without their wedding rings.

The couple was still together when Spears wrote The Woman In Me, so there is no mention of the divorce filing in August of this year. (The Messenger previously confirmed there were no changes to Spears' memoir in light of the couple's separation.)

Spears ends the discussion of their relationship on a high note.

"I look up to him — his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how we can take care of each other," Spears wrote.

"He's such an inspiration and I’m grateful."
