How the ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Writers’ Room Got Right Back to Work After the Strike Ended (Exclusive)
Season 2 of the Amazon Freevee hit returns Friday, and the show's creative team told The Messenger they're already working on Season 3 after a five-month break
After a strike that lasted nearly 150 days, the Bosch: Legacy writers' room was eager to reconvene.
But that doesn't mean it was easy.
Just days after the WGA strike finally came to a close, the writing staff of the Amazon Freevee hit got back together — and it felt like a vacation.
"It's very exciting," Bosch: Legacy writer and co-showrunner Tom Bernardo exclusively told The Messenger earlier this month. "The way I described it is like stepping out on a beach after a long, cold winter."
The strike, as Bosch: Legacy executive producer Henrik Bastin explained, threw Season 3 for an unprecedented loop.
"When we went into strike is usually when we would have started winding up pre-production," he said. "That was a very odd thing. We basically had to stop talking to our writers on all the creative things."

But have no fear, things are full steam ahead with the strike in the clear.
"We're putting pens back to paper on Season 3, fives months later," Bastin continued. "But the good thing is, we haven't lost a beat. We'll start producing [Season 3] in January."
As for Season 2, which finds Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) and Honey "Money" Chandler (Mimi Rogers) working together together to find a killer who is also on the hunt for them, Bernardo took the responsibility of satiating the show's rabid fandom very seriously.
"To know there are people out there who care about our story in the same way that I've cared about Breaking Bad or Mad Men is just an honor," he said. "I love hearing it and never tire of it. I hope that we honor that relationship and deliver for them with season two in a satisfying way."
The first four episodes of Bosch: Legacy Season 2 are available to stream now on Amazon Freevee. New episodes are released every Friday.
