Bobbie Jean Carter, sister to singer Nick Carter and the late Aaron Carter, died on Saturday morning in Florida, according to TMZ. She was 41.

Carter's mother, Jane, told the outlet, "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private."

No further information was given by family at the time of posting. The Messenger can confirm the details shared with TMZ are correct.

Jane Carter also requested prayers for her granddaughter: "[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious 8-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."

Bobbie Jean Carter appeared in her family's E! reality TV show, House of Carters, on which she was featured in several episodes. She struggled with her private life in recent years, having issues with substance abuse and multiple arrests.

Her death follows that of brother Aaron, who was found drowned in the bathtub at his home in Lancaster, Calif. in 2022 at the age of 34; as well as sister Leslie, who died of an overdose in 2012.
