Bethenny Frankel Claims She Pitched a Reality Show with NeNe Leakes Called ‘Ebony & Ivory’

'I just knew that NeNe is hysterical, she's talented, we get along, people would die to watch us together, we're hilarious,' the 'RHONY' star shared

It sounds like two of the most iconic Real Housewives cast members in history nearly joined forces.

On a two-part episode of her Just B podcast on Friday, Real Housewives of New York City OG Bethenny Frankel told her guest, Real Housewives of Atlanta OG NeNe Leakes, that she previously wanted to team up with her for a project.

The host described the idea as "a show called Ebony & Ivory where we get in an RV and go across the country from each of our perspectives."

Frankel said she even pitched the idea to two production companies that "had relationships with Bravo." However, the plans fell apart when Leakes filed a discrimination lawsuit against the network and Andy Cohen last April (though Leakes later dropped the suit).

The RHONY alum said she urged one production company to call Leakes about her potential involvement, but was told, "We can't touch it, she's suing."

While the show never came to fruition, a source familiar with the situation told The Messenger that a pitch for Ebony & Ivory never made it to anybody at Bravo. However, the source noted, Bravo did once have a show in development with Leakes and former RHOA co-star Kim Zolciak called NeNe & Kim: Road to Riches, with a similar premise to what Frankel described on her podcast.

"I just knew that NeNe is hysterical, she's talented, we get along, people would die to watch us together, we're hilarious," Frankel explained on her podcast. "Put us in an RV, anywhere. Put the cameras on right now, and that thing will rate."

It's worth noting that Friday's podcast episodes appear to have been edited to remove details of the supposed spinoff since they were first posted.
