‘Below Deck Med’ Star Captain Sandy Yawn Is Engaged to Leah Shafer

Come sail away to the wedding altar.

Below Deck Mediterranean star Captain Sandy Yawn is engaged to her partner Leah Shafer after more than five years of dating, per E! News.

"I have been thinking about marrying Leah for years," the Bravo star shared with the outlet in an interview published Monday. "I knew from the minute I met her, but the timing had to be right. I wanted to make sure we could truly do life together first."

In order to create the perfect proposal, Yawn planned a boat ride to a cove. Once there, the super-yacht captain decorated the area with flowers and escorted Shafer to a small table accompanied by three violinists.

"Leah wanted the fairytale, and to me, Leah represents elegance," she explained. "I truly could not wait. I shared my vision list of love I had written and wanted, then got on one knee. Then, she said 'Yes!'"

The happy couple first met in 2018 after the skin aesthetician contacted Yawn privately on Facebook. While the pair didn't rush things in the relationship, Yawn said she was already thinking about marriage two years into dating.

"Honestly, slow and steady wins the race. So I do," she told Bravo Insider in 2020. "I mean, who knows? Like, its only been two years. Just under two years, so let's see."
