‘Bachelor’ Alum Clayton Echard Will Reportedly Take Paternity Test for Woman Who Claims to Be Pregnant With His Twins
A woman who claims to be pregnant with Echard's twins says he refused to take a paternity test for months — and even urged her to get an abortion
Clayton Echard is at the center of a paternity case with a woman who claims to be pregnant with his twin children.
According to court records obtained Tuesday by Page Six, a former one-night stand is accusing the Bachelor alum of fathering the babies, who are due in February.
After allegedly skirting around taking a paternity test for months, Echard has agreed to submit to one Sept. 26, Page Six reports, two days before the two sides are due to meet in court.
In her lawsuit, the woman — a 33-year-old podcast host from Scottsdale, Ariz., who wishes to remain anonymous — claims Echard said he would take a prenatal paternity test on Aug. 23, but later "refused" and she was forced to cancel the appointment, which came with a $725 deposit.
The woman — who claims to have had sex with Echard in May — alleges she found out about the pregnancy June 1 and immediately alerted the reality TV star.
Echard repeatedly doubted his paternity and even texted her to get an abortion, according to the woman, which she submitted to the court via screenshot.
"I would like for you to get an abortion (if you are pregnant with my child, which I still don't believe, but it doesn't really matter either way)," he allegedly texted her. "If you do not, that's your choice. Then, in that case, if it ends up being my child, I have decided that either you'll take 100% custody of the child, or it will be put up for adoption. I will not be raising it in any capacity."

On June 17, the woman claims, Echard invited her over to his apartment where he presented her with an at-home pregnancy test that he demanded she take in front of him, including urinating on it in his presence.
The test allegedly came back positive.
"I wanted you to come over to confirm what I was doubting," Echard apparently texted her the next day. "And you did confirm that. So, I don't see you as a liar anymore."
However, Echard began dodging her and even blocked her phone number, she claimed. When they eventually got back in touch, the woman alleged he demanded "alternative forms of proof of pregnancy" and accused her of "taking fertility drugs or weight loss pills that altered the results."
Echard — who appeared on Season 18 of The Bachelorette in 2018 before becoming the titular Bachelor on Season 26 in 2022 — continued to shun paternity in a response to her lawsuit.
He denies the two ever had "sexual intercourse" and told The Sun, who first obtained the legal documents, that he intends to sue the woman.
The Messenger reached out a representative for Echard, but has not heard back.
