Andy Cohen was just as shocked at the rest of the Bravo world when the news of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's split was announced.

Speaking with The Messenger at BravoCon 2023, the Watch What Happens Live host admitted he was completely caught off guard.

"They were just a couple that you didn't see it coming," he shared.

Back in July, news broke that Richards and Umansky were separating after 27 years of marriage. However, in a joint statement posted to Instagram July 3, the former pair said any claims regarding divorce are untrue.

"We have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage," the statement read. "But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately."

During an appearance on WWHL last month, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star cleared up rumors surrounding their separation.

"The thing that bothers me so much," Richards told Cohen, "is that we are doing this just for ratings."

Cohen agreed, noting, "Yeah, that pisses me off, too, actually."

"What human being would do that to their children, to their family?" Richards questioned. "Obviously those people are very ignorant. But it's so annoying. Who would do that?"

Richards then joked to Cohen, "I mean, I love you guys and the show, but not that much."

The RHOBH stars share daughters Farrah, 34, from Richards' first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie, Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15.

"It was really difficult," Richards said of how the split was affecting the family. "But now they're much better and they're really strong. They're just so together and so smart and they've been my best, best friends and I could not be more proud of them. They are amazing human beings. Thank God I have them through that."
