Amber Heard Said Jason Momoa Was ‘Drunk’ and ‘Dressing Like Johnny’ Depp on ‘Aquaman 2’ Set (Report)
The actress reportedly told her therapist that Momoa wanted her fired and behaved inappropriately on the set of 'Aquaman 2'
Amber Heard encountered rough seas on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The actress, who's reprising her role as Mera in the upcoming sequel, reportedly slammed her costar and onscreen love interest in therapy sessions, accusing him of showing up late and drunk on set and wanting her fired from the production. She even reportedly complained that the superhero star was dressing like her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
Notes from Heard's therapy sessions were introduced in last year's highly publicized defamation trial brought against her by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, who won the case. Last month, fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor paid court fees to release the notes, which were handwritten by Heard's therapist on legal pads. In a Variety report published Tuesday, sources confirmed that the notes refer to the Aquaman 2 production and were taken during a Dec. 27, 2021 session. A separate source told the outlet that Heard's lawyers fought the release of the notes, which Depp's team had subpoenaed during the trial.
"Jason said he wanted me fired," Heard reportedly told her therapist, per notes taken during the session that were later posted on Reddit. "Jason drunk — late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings, too."
Heard and Momoa declined to comment to Variety. Reps for the actors did not immediately respond to The Messenger's request for comment either, nor did Warner Bros., the studio behind the film.
However, a spokesperson for DC defended Momoa in a statement to Variety, saying, "Jason Momoa conducted himself in a professional manner at all times on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom." An insider on the set agreed, telling the outlet, "Jason works his ass off, likes to have a beer once in a while like everyone, but doesn't show up drunk to set." Of Momoa's sartorial choices, the insider added, "And he isn't dressing like Johnny Depp. He has always dressed in that bohemian style."

During the defamation trial, Heard was vocal about her difficulties on Aquaman 2, testifying that Warner Bros. didn't want to include her in the sequel because of her legal proceedings with Depp. Former DC Films president Walter Hamada countered her claims in a video deposition delivered on May 24, saying that the studio had considered recasting Heard solely due to perceived chemistry issues with Momoa.
According to the Variety report, Warner Bros. wanted to fire Heard ahead of the film's sequel but changed course after her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk — whom she dated for a year after splitting with Depp — sent a "scorched-earth letter to Warner Bros. threatening to burn the house down" if she wasn't hired back.
Heard remains in the sequel in what she called a "pared down" role. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom splashes into theaters on Dec. 20.
