Aaron Carter’s Twin Reveals His Burial Site and Invites Fans to Visit, Share Memories
'Never forget who Aaron was deep down,' the late child star's twin sister said on her Instagram today while sharing his final resting place
Aaron Carter's final resting place was revealed today by his twin sister, Angel Carter, who shared his burial site on her Instagram account.
"Aaron’s portrait was placed this morning at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. He adored his fans, and I know how much this would mean to him now, having a final resting place where we could all celebrate his life," she wrote to fans, many of whom had been following Aaron's career since he rose to fame as a tween pop star in the '90s, releasing hits like "Aaron's Party (Come and Get It)," "I Want Candy" and "Bounce," and opening for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears on tour.
"I invite you to visit, share your memories, and never forget who Aaron was deep down," Angel added, captioning a photo of a bronze plaque with her brother's portrait on his headstone. The plaque memorializes Aaron as a "beloved brother, son, friend and father of Prince Carter."
Aaron died in November 2022 at the age of 34. His death was ruled as accidental by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, who revealed that Carter drowned in his bathtub after taking difluoroethane (the chemical in air dusters and certain aerosol sprays that gets people high when huffed) and alprazolam (the generic form of Xanax).
He had been struggling with addiction and with his mental health (he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder in 2017), as well as having a difficult time coping with the loss of their sister, Leslie, and father, Robert.
"He wanted so badly to be happy," his twin reflected in an interview with People this past August. "He really fought to the end, but he just had too many problems to be fixed. He'd become this person who we no longer recognized. I don't even think he recognized himself."
She added that "fame and money" took over the Carter family.
