’90 Day Fiancé’s ‘Big Ed’ and Liz Explain the ‘Best Thing’ They Did For Their Relationship After ‘The Last Resort’ (Exclusive)

90 Day Fiancé's Ed "Big Ed" Brown and Liz Woods are continuing what they learned on The Last Resort. At the 10th anniversary party for the franchise's flagship series Sept. 26, the famous couple got real about what's helped their relationship heal from 11 breakups.

"We had to separate it from couples therapy on the show, and then couples therapy for what we actually needed," Liz exclusively told The Messenger. Now, the duo has continued couples therapy after the show, which they said has been the "best thing we could have done for ourselves."

The two are currently one of five couples starring on 90 Day Fiancé's newest spinoff The Last Resort, which follows some of the franchise's most explosive (and well-loved) couples as they navigate issues with trust, sex, jealousy, anger, and intimacy alongside a team of trained professionals on a group retreat.

At the end of the retreat, each couple is supposed to decide if they want to stay together or move on — although Ed and Liz's choice seems clear. But the experience ultimately put them on a level playing field, which was invaluable for the relationship.

"It's not that we haven't been to couples therapy before, but we had a fair advantage this time around with having a fresh start," Liz added. "In the past, we went to couples therapy with Ed's therapists. To me, it wasn't a fair level."

Ed added that previous experiences had always been "one-sided." Plus, he appreciated that his fiancé "really put her foot down and demanded that we get individual time" with the therapists, which helped the relationship even more.

And now that Ed and Liz are on the same page, they've moved onto mending relationships with other loved ones. The couple also exclusively revealed that Ed has been reconciled with his mom Norma for "over a year," and he's currently trying to repair his relationship with daughter Tiffany.

"[The relationship] with my daughter is still on hold," he said. "I'm reaching out and getting messages every once in awhile, but it's still a relationship I'm working on. I'm never gonna give up."
