Target’s Stanley ‘Galentine’s Day’ Tumblers Sell for Up to $350 on Ebay, Etsy
The stainless steel 40-ounce Valentine’s Day mugs sold out in just minutes in some places, according to local news reports
A week after the iconic red and pink Stanley Valentine’s Day Tumblers became available at Target and Starbucks, the 40-ounce stainless steel mugs are selling for several times the retail price of $49.95 on sites like eBay, Etsy and Facebook Marketplace.
New tumblers are are selling for between $100 and up to $350 in some cases.
Shoppers went crazy for the 'Galentine's Day' special edition tumblers.
The steel cups went on sale on Jan. 4, and immediately took the Internet by storm as social media users posted videos of frenzied customers snatching the mugs off store shelves.
Images on Twitter depicted customers lining up at Target at 3 a.m., waiting for tumblers to hit store shelves.
A widely shared video depicted a would-be shoplifter jumping over a store counter in an apparent effort to steal a box of Stanley tumblers, only to be apprehended by shoppers and store staff.
