Miami Mansion Transformed by a Milk Dynasty With a Vintage Ice Cream Bar Lists for $25 Million
The waterfront home in the elite neighborhood of Bay Point was formerly home to the McArthur Dairy family
A waterfront Miami mansion once owned by the prestigious MacArthur family, behind the McArthur Dairy fortune, is listed for $25 million — and it comes with a vintage ice cream bar. Of course, it does.
The McArthur family owned the largest single dairy herd in the world in the mid 20th century, the Miami Herald previously reported, and they had about 3,200 cows on a piece of land between Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Its founder James McArthur was also a partial owner of the Miami Dolphins at one point, according to a Douglas Elliman spokesperson. The company, which started in 1929, was later acquired by Dean Foods and then, in 2020 by billionaire Miami developer Moishe Mana.
But the original ice cream sundae bar at James and Jean McArthur’s former home on Biscayne Bay still remains, according to the listing by Dina Goldentayer and Danilo Tavares of Douglas Elliman.
“The ice cream bar has multiple topping stations, soda spouts and is outfitted with a retro Galanz refrigerator," a Douglas Elliman spokesperson told The Messenger.
The ice cream bar isn’t the only luxury feature of the home. The recently-renovated six-bedroom house opens into a foyer with a “dual marble staircase,” and the property includes a high-dive pool and private dock, according to the listing. The 8,322-square-foot home also features a “Hamptons-esque kitchen” and a library. A guest house on the property has its own sleeping quarters and a cabana, according to the listing. The McArthurs lived in the house until 2017.

The mansion is located in the elite neighborhood of Bay Point — a community built in 1912 that has been home to stars including “Game of Thrones” actor Sophie Turner and her former husband Joe Jonas, Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias and American rapper DMX.
The home’s seller is Richard L. Krelstein, a Miami resident who bought the home for $11.15 million in 2021, according to property records.
