Dorito Booze, Taco Bell Wine, Mustardy Skittles and Other Oddball Combos
Magnolia Bakery-inspired marijuana edibles — banana pudding and red velvet cake — came out this year
Doritos getting into the alcohol business is just one of the unexpected spin-offs that brands are serving up to their customers.
On Tuesday, the snack's owner, PepsiCo, announced it was teaming up with Empirical, which makes "'uncategorized' spirits," to release a limited-edition nacho cheese-flavored spirit.
The product's release comes amid a growing trend in which popular brands are joining forces with other companies to release unexpected mashups of some of their favorite products.
On cocktails without the buzz – Graza, an olive oil brand that went viral for its squeezable containers, linked up with a sparkling water company on a canned non-alcoholic olive oil martini.
Magnolia Bakery, the iconic pastry chain, partnered with Incredibles, a cannabis company, to release marijuana edibles inspired by their banana pudding and red velvet cake this year.
Earlier this year, Skittles teamed up with French's to launch a limited-edition mustard-flavored candy. The collaboration came out in honor of a little-known holiday – National Mustard Day.
This fall, Absolut Vodka and Kahlúa announced they were collaborating with a fragrance company to launch a $105 espresso martini-scented perfume. The year before, Absolut Vodka worked with designer Nik Bentel to release an espresso martini handbag.

In 2021, Arby's released a french-fry-flavored vodka – in both a crinkle and curly fry version – and in 2020, Taco Bell came out with a "jalapeño noir" wine.
