Aspen Mansion Listed for $105 Million Hopes to Set Record for the Resort City
The last nine-figure listing in the city ended up selling at a steep discount
If an Aspen, Colorado, mountain mansion listed for $105 million receives its asking price, it would be the resort city’s most expensive home sale ever.
The property includes more than eight acres of land overlooking the Roaring Fork Valley.
The main home built in 2013 includes five bedrooms, cathedral ceilings, a walk-in wine room, media room, elevator and a butler’s pantry. Its living room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking mountain views and the Roaring Fork River, which quite literally runs through its backyard.
The property includes two parcels, which can be purchased separately. The price for the main house is $72 million, while the guest house is $33 million.

Other cities such as New York, Miami and Los Angeles have seen home sales over $100 million, but Aspen’s last attempt to make a nine-figure sale didn’t go so well. The last triple-digit listing in the city, a 10-bedroom mansion with direct access to Aspen’s ski slopes listed for $100 million last June, sold at a steeply reduced price of $65 million. To date, the most expensive home sold in the mountain town closed at $72.5 million in 2021.
The new $105 million listing by Mandy Welgos and Craig Morris of Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty is currently owned by a limited liability company under the name Terry Taylor, who owns one of the nation’s largest automotive dealers based in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to property records. Taylor bought the home for $32 million in 2020, property records show. Despite the eye-popping price tag, the home's assessed value in 2023 is only $34.9 million, according to Pitkin County Assessor records.
The automotive tycoon has also been buying up properties in South Florida. His most recent purchase was an $18 million Palm Beach condo above Tiffany & Co., reported The Real Deal. Taylor bought a $7.5 million beachfront condo in Palm Beach last year, reported the publication.
